The Kennedy's ordered troops to force integration in the south and Bobby Kennedy was very liberal. He was our hope to get out of Viet Nam. JFK was pragmatic, but left of center. As well durign the Cuban missle crises he over ruled the military. JFK and Bobby Kenendy would have left Aghanistan, and even ordering troopps it the south would have been relected. They were also ready to get rid of Hoover and were working on massive new social programs. All liberal ideas. It is my understanding Obama is simply not that liberal.
