you express the general picture being sold to the public. think globally and how international markets are roaring as people as a majority are not only happy to have a new pair of shoes but they can afford a cell phone and fresh water and fancy drinks with Coke stamped on em. I have a feeling the US will wake up and realize our problems stem from most want the government to give it to them as an entitlement like stagnant Europe while the real growth is in the emerging markets where hard work means higher standard of living. If people could figure out relying on the government is a form of slavery... and the goal is to do so well you don't need government help... no matter how much they steal from you in an attempt to redistribute the fruits of your labor then our problems will be mostly over.
