I've never criticised "it:" religion, Christianity specifically, or other specific religions. Other people on this thread may choose to do that, I have not. I have criticised the exercise of authority in a coercive and abusive manner. I acknowledge attempts at oppressive behavior for what it is, whether it is based in religion, politics, economics, groupism, or some other form of power one person or type of person may attempt to wield over another. Using religion to wield authority or imply authority over others is an attempt to coopt in an arbitrary manner. In this case an attempt to coopt power which is reserved by God.
The process is obvious to any objective observer when it is being done and every free human being has an obligation to take a stand against it. The process involves a great deal of manipulation and hoop jumping in attempts to get the upper hand, resulting when successful in a claim of religious authority.
I have not criticised "it," I have criticised "you" for the manner in which you wield "it." I have criticised you repeatedly on this and you have repeatedly misrepresented that criticism, preferring to call it an attack on Christianity ... as if it were one and the same thing. It is not, it is merely an attempt to dodge personal responsibility by you. |
