It isn't just the drop that has me nervous, it is the way it dropped. When Compac drops more than Dell, I get nervous. There are just too many things happening for an investor to judge the impact on CPQ.

Intel announces big price reductions for PII - good news?
Intel announces bug for pentium - bad news?
WD and other disk maker profits drop due to lower margins - good news?
Compac testifies (against?) Microsoft in hearings - bad news?
Compac makes press release (endorsing?) Microsoft - good news?
Korean stock market drops - bad news?
Experts say Greenspan won't raise interest rates - good news?
Iraq tests US resolve and we consider military action - bad news?

Any long term investors remember what happened to CPQ at the start of and during desert storm?
