It would be possible for them to pull up the drawbridge though to stop people crossing the moat. There are other things that can be done for some untoward eventualities. Remember that the USA military invented the internet for the purposes of military prowess - in particular defense of communication systems between computers. Normally one doesn't invent a weapon and hand it over to Al Qaeda. I don't think the USA will be giving up control any time soon to a bunch of doped up Hippies to run cyberspace. Mqurice
