There are many species with this proclivity, and we deal with them. Why are we, the most destructive species of all, excepted?

Eventually we'll realize we have to do it. China already has. New biological techniques will make it as simple as releasing an engineered virus, then dealing out the "cure" selectively. Think "Children of Men".
