Huh? Did you miss the paragraph below that was in the article? You Rs think this recession was a run of the mill one.....no big deal. In fact, it was an economic catastrophe that is still reverberating throughout the country. Of course they made an overestimate. Who could have predicted that the American economy would fall off a cliff. Here in Seattle projects dependent on the gas tax are getting shelved left and right. Why? Because gas tax revenues have plummeted from where they were supposed to be.

You all wonder why I am so angry. Well you frigging Rs have ruined this country for years. We will be paying through the nose for a long time because of the Rs inability to govern and its extreme hubris.

And yeah, even the CA ARB estimates are off and the little guy is getting hurt.....AGAIN. Deal with it! And just know that your voting practices contributed to the problem. Thank you very much!

"The staff of the powerful and widely respected Air Resources Board said the overestimate is largely due to the board calculating emissions before the economy slumped, which halted the use of many of the 150,000 diesel-exhaust-spewing vehicles in California. Independent researchers, however, found huge overestimates in the air board's work on diesel emissions and attributed the flawed work to a faulty method of calculation - not the economic downturn."
