I have 2,000+ minutes for $100.00 for the year, and a $20.00 phone, at 5 cents per minute.

Sounds like you have T-Mobile's $15 per month, 10 cent per minute plan? You may want to explore some of the other prepaid service providers. You can do better. (However, at $15/mo, there is much less bang for the buck savings than someone getting hosed for $50, $100, or more per month.)
