Two months after announcing notebooks are falling off a cliff we see headlines like this...amazing...Quanta, Compal see record notebook shipments in September...though having an extremely strong year TSMC is beating the trend...and eventually TSMC will maintain utilization for 12 inch - that means all fabless customer like ALTR, BRCM, QCOM et al see solid business in the months ahead

Quanta Computer and Compal Electronics both saw record notebook shipments in September, shipping five million and 4.6 million units, respectively.
Quanta's consolidated revenues in September were the second highest in the company's history, while Compal hit a a company record.
Fellow notebook makers Wistron and Inventec have also reported revenues for September. Wistron's unconsolidated revenues also hit a company record. Wistron shipped 2.6 million notebooks, 550,000 LCD TVs, 950,000 desktop PCs, 800,000 LCD monitors, 140,000 servers and 700,000 hand-held devices.
For October notebook shipments, Quanta and Wistron foresee sequential decreases while Compal expects its volume to remain unchanged from September.
