I was not aware of his involvement with Harvard. Was he before or after Summers, as I understood that Summers blew up Harvard's nest egg.

I think El-Erian is a very bright guy, but he is a PIMCO guy. They have an air about them that they are above it all, but we know they either get favors or stomp their feet until someone does what they want. I guess when you can sink Treasuries with your market power, you get what you want.
