Well I think your are talking consistency. That within a system
cannot justify the system. The assay problem is that it cannot prove
a negative that we did not leave gremlins in the gangue for which we will have to devise another assay system to test the validity of the first. Of course once perfected there is no use for the first unless its cheaper. Testing the new system starts all over again.

Occam cuts the necessity of testing as there is no indication of loss
or guarantee of exclusion by any positive. We cannot imagine a thing or let's say a Pt value then look for the method by which we must search for it non-evidentiary existence. We have a lack of necessity of pursuing the not-in-evidence. It stops us from looking for the "real killer" of OJ's wife and life forms from other planets that hide under beds but can't be seen when you look quickly.

Does this prevent curiousity? No. Certainly any method thought valid can be used to test its efficacy. But to test it's superiority to another we have only statisics and standards.

I see little green men in our PT grains that are probably nano- clusters caught in silica. Why assume them? Are they necessary to say why ordinary methods do not find platinum? Where is the smoking cluster?

The necessity of explaining scientific endeavour to peer review and not patenting or black boxing it can be seen here. Why should this method find Pt that other systems don't? We are asking for a lot of faith that it does!
