Despite negative economic forecasts and all the rue predicted for Democrats in November, President Obama's approval rating is actually faring better than Presidents Reagan and Clinton at this point in their terms, according to an analysis of data provided by the Gallup polling organization.

I'm amazed that a quality organization like Gallup would even discuss such results. Obviously, totally meaningless as these presidencies are in no way comparable.

Reagan didn't have 90% of the nation's blacks willing to tolerate any level of incompetence. Clinton had the black vote, but ultimately had to move to the right in order to stay in office, something Obama isn't likely to do.

It is just absurd to draw such comparisons. A more sensible one is the GWB vs. Obama comparison, since they were chronologically connected.

It doesn't matter. Obama is a one-termer in the end and there is not much that can be done to stop that unless employment just bounces back out of the blue.
