HUH??? Not with my full-service broker, you can't. And I suspect the SEC would be surprised to hear about this rather doubtful practice. Yes, if you get a house call you can wait to settle; fed calls are dicier; but in my experience you can't buy a damned thing with money you've "promised" to send.

What you suggest is leverage that goes WAY beyond what's allowed by law.
