Listen to Berenbaum - he is now pumping up Intel's high margin business - in particular servers...he now "likes "Intel's high margin business; he is still whining about a "seasonal slow third quarter" although the baseline laid in previous quarters was extremely strong.
Good riddance
Heck in case smart phones go ballistic someone must provide the infra structure...

"The company's expectation for third-quarter gross margin is now 66 percent, plus or minus a point, lower than the previous expectation of 67 percent, plus or minus a couple of points," it said, adding that the impact of the reduced sales is being partially offset by the slightly higher prices that its chips are commanding in some markets."
This might be helpful in guessing what segment might be responsible for the shortfall - though sales are cut the new mid point is still within the range given a couple months ago.
My guess Atom has probably lower margins compared to Core I5 & I7 - and of course server chips are at the high end of margin spectrum.

Berenbaum is no dummy - he deliberately created fud and panic and his firm profited from it.
Now they "discover" the smart gadgets need to be connected - connected via servers?
