YORE:

I have enjoyed reading your posts in the last few months and
you seem to have some clues/knowledge about mgmt issues
at SPTR. In particular, it being a one-man show.

Could you tell us more on the mgmt issue at SPTR. Well
Moore was new and one can always argue that there may
have been real differences of style and where Moore wanted
to see SPTR go, or even what he was promised when he
joined SPTR. I haev seen this happen many times both
in buiness and academia. It is very rare for liability reasons
that a company will bad mouth an exec in public or for that
matter wash their dirty laundry in public. When this happens
you can bet a lawsuit follows. So, the silence is a common
practice. In fact usually both parties sign an agreement to
this effect before parting ways.

However, I will counter argue that other than
this new hire, the presidents of all the 3 divisions, all
long-term SPTR employees are still around. If RJ's mgmt
style was autocratic then why are these folks still around ?

What do your sources tell you about RJ ? Other than
wanting to run a one-man show and being a good techie
but a poor biz-man.

BTW, I agree with your point on SPTR using cost-overruns
as a way to explain 3Q shortfall. I will given them the benefit
of the doubt. When large systems are put into place it is
not uncommon to run into cost-overruns or some delays etc.
Flawless execution happens some of the time only.

Also, they do not seem very forthcoming on their backlog
on their 10Q's or press releases. It is what they do not talk
about that has me worried. Also, in their 3Q press release
there was no indication if the 100% fiber expansion at
Sturbridge was on schedule or not. They talked about the
Spectailty Division at Connecticut though.
