In order to break into the communications market, you need two things.
1. Large customer base
2. Gotta own your own lines

Start ups, as a rule, buy large volume of time from the big guys, AT&T, MCI, Sprint, and then re-sell the time to consumers. Any short term surge in the customer base can be nixed (controlled) by the big 3. Ultimetely longterm, instead of investing in the small start ups, put your money in the big guys cause they win whether you use them or not.

And BTW - no $2M company (in assets) can possibly invest the required funds to deal with these two issues. Imatel is currently a private compaany. I would like to see an audited report as to the nature of the financial standings before I give this merger ANY credibility.
