"If a girl got really drunk and passed out on her 18th birthday and her brothers took advantage of her sexually do you really blame the girl?"

Lot was not a girl. He was the father of these two young girls. And it was not his 18th birthday. The excuse that Lot was too drunk to know he was committing incest with his daughters is certainly not one that is acceptable to most people.

"The text says he was unaware of what his daughters did"

The discussion is not about the text. Do you praise his behavior as a father? Do you think offering his daughters to be gang raped was a fatherly gesture? Do you think getting drunk with his daughters is reasonable excuse for having sex with them on two consecutive nights?

We are certainly getting a picture of your "moral" values here, aren't we?! :-)

"I don't have the ability to read the minds of people who lived thousands of years ago"

If I find the story of Lot getting drunk with his daughters (to the point where (you say) he is not responsible for his actions), to be morally repugnant--it is certainly no testament to telepathy. I am sure you are the only person on this thread who thinks such behavior is Righteous and Just and who (when repeatedly asked to render a judgment) can find nothing of moral turpitude in his actions. How can you even call such a man a father--never mind a decent human being???
