Ignore that silly quote -- anyone who opposed the fascist dictatorship that used to run Brazil was labeled as such and perforce had to be a guerilla, or at least had to ally with them.

Remember how Lula was portrayed as a radical Marxist who would nationalize the entire country and turned out to be a pragmatist who has done a great job for everyone, including capitalists? Rousseff is a disciple of Lula, and expectations are that she will follow the same pragmatic centrist approach, expectations which will most likely win her the election. Even those radical right wingers at the Fraser Institute like Brazil as a place to invest.
