AK-Sen: Joe Miller's 'security force' handcuffs journalist by Barbara Morrill Mon Oct 18, 2010 at 07:50:03 AM PDT Last week, Alaska's Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate Joe Miller said that "he will no longer answer reporters' questions about his background and personal life," and last night Miller showed just how far he's willing to go to make sure he doesn't have to answer any questions from the media: The editor of the Alaska Dispatch website was arrested by U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller's private security guards Sunday as the editor attempted to interview Miller at the end of a public event in an Anchorage school. Tony Hopfinger was handcuffed by the guards and detained in a hallway at Central Middle School until Anchorage police came and told the guards to release Hopfinger. A public event at a public school, and yet Miller's squad of Blackwater wannabes accused Hopfinger of "trespassing," while the Miller campaign called: ... Hopfinger a “liberal blogger” and accussed him of having “chased Miller to the exit after the event concluded in an attempt to create and then record a ‘confrontation’ with the candidate.” The "confrontation" was Hopfinger's attempt to question Miller about reports that: ... in March 2008 Miller was caught using borough computers for political gain. Multiple sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Alaska Dispatch that Miller used other employees' computers to send out proxy votes in a failed effort to unseat Alaska GOP chair Randy Ruedrich. Because God knows that the voters don't have any right to know about Miller's ethics. Of course this latest incident says quite a lot about them. Not to mention Miller's willingness to ditch the Constitution whenever it's convenient.
