There are impacts for anything we do but if you truly examine state of the art construction of renewable equipment you will find a much, much lower impact to the environment.

The added plus is much of the materials used can be recycled at the end of their useful lives.

Unfortunately you can't do that with fossil fuels if they are economically gone.

In the end it will come down to what's sustainable in the long run.
