Hi Scott: ****OT***

I find shorts in several ways: listening to earnings conference calls, through TA, and just instinct sometimes. I got a good one (MOT) from listening to its second quarter earnings call. RMBS was an easy one because it was run up strictly through its small float. AAPL is just a lousy company with a dying product. I found some drillers to short based on their charts. You have to be patient with it sometimes, but it is a thrill to see one of your shorts tank hard on bad earnings or other news. You can put stops in to protect yourself but on a gap up opening, for instance, your stop just becomes a market order. I got gapped on Apple this summer and just shorted more.

Shorting is no riskier than taking a long position IMO, if you monitor it the same way.

Good luck. Find one and try it. You'll like it.
