Depending on exactly what you mean by "cheap", and "many years", I don't think that.

But I don't think they are going to be expensive enough to make up for all the disadvantages of wind and solar in the near to mid term. Also, esp. for smaller scale efforts like yours, they can always be done later if they actually start making economic sense later.
