I tend to think that politics is all about economics.

In the vast majority of cases, I am convinced that environmentalism is all about economics too.

Realistically, economics will win over environmentalism. If we were to turn off the coal fired power plants for one week to give the liberals a taste of a world without fossil fuels, they would understand that we kinda need them.

For the "haves" fossil fuels give us luxuries. For the have nots it gives them life. It certainly ain't rich people who will die if we stop using coal and natural gas. Eric will be up there under the covers in his cozy home with his overpriced solar system on his isolated little island where the dregs of society can't get to him. He'll be fine. But go to Chicago in the winter with no energy from fossil fuels and it would get ugly really fast. Riot ugly.
