Dr. Oliver: Good post; I'm always receptive to new ideas. I am aware of there being multiple HIV strains in the same patient. My assumption has been that most, if not all, strains (excluding the obvious resistant ones) respond equally well to the present combo drugs, including the PIs, thru inhibition of the same replication process. But, of course, even staph/strept have become penicillin (methicillin, Vancomycin) resistant. Damn smart bugs! How do they do that? It looks like present day technology keeps finding new stuff that seems to muddy the water (at least from a clinical standpoint). Thanks for the info.
