Less, I don't think we'll ever know who was telling the truth. Certainly there are a lot of office politics that happens in the legal profession, much more so than I could ever fathom. I think Anita's allegations stem from such politics.

Still, I'll never forget the standard by which the validity of her allegations was measured by her supporters. "Not the nature of the evidence, but the seriousness of the charge."


The problem to me is that it is difficult to assign anything other than political motivation to the sordid incident. Were it not political, it would have come out before.

I don't know if the man did it or not. I must admit having gone far beyond playing grabass in the office in years before the Thomas incident. And we know that Bill Clinton did, too, in the years since. And to be frank, there probably wasn't 1 in 10 of the bums who were trying to bring him down who haven't done the same.

It was never about righteousness. Never.
