Jorj I'm stunned! I actually agree with everything you stated except for the last couple comments. What lessons should we have learned from the oil embargo in 1973? You and I lived through that one and we were both driving our own cars then! Without cheap, abundant oil our economy.. especially our economy here in America would crumble to the ground in just a few weeks without imported oil. No rail, no trucks, no cars, no farms tilling the soil. No food. (Well... I have a garden but it's not big enough to feed me totally!)
