Obama will probably cave on extending the tax cuts a year or two, which makes the job even harder. But he will have a Congress more willing to look at real cuts in some areas, if the commission comes up with a decent plan. Personally I don't think either party will take real action until we reach a state like Greece where the cuts are essential to our global financial survival. They rarely have before.
