10/22/10 Update Despite a terrible Tuesday, the broad market managed to eke out a small gain for the week. But dragged down by the AMLN blow-up, the biotech indexes finished in the red. At Friday’s close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 9.27% YTD (vs. up 8.80% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 8.81% YTD (vs. up 9.53% YTD a week ago). The Contest median closed up 9.62% YTD (vs. up 10.70% YTD a week ago). ROCKY’s portfolio (up 49.03% YTD) picked up another percentage point and held on to the Contest lead and second place WILDER’s portfolio (up 41.56% YTD) also turned in a small weekly gain. FILO's portfolio (up 36.14% YTD) closed about even for the week and remained in third place. At Friday's close, 26 of the 32 Contest portfolios were in the black with 18 of the 32 beating the NBI.
