There are more etch applications such as self-aligned double patterning technology emerging - this particular technology allows to extend litho equipment to a certain degree.
I believe this is a BIG NAND application.
It requires deposition step(s) and etch step(s).
Again AMAT wanted to provide "total solutions" (provide etch and dep). However the AMAT presentation during Semicon stated major wins in double patterning but the slide only related to deposition not to etch.
And it appears Lam continues winning applications -
Here a quote from three months ago
...who was he referring to?
And eventually the wins will be put into production - it seems some analysts have a hard time to keep up with this
Steve Newberry?

I think we had four total this quarter. Most of the application wins activity in the first half of the year have been in conductor. We have 10 net application wins to-date, total between conductor and Etch. And for a competitive reasons I am not going to detail out the specifics because at some cases our competitors don't even know yet that they have lost.

There is still room to improve clean margins but clean margins are a positive contributor - just tune in to CC
