Cosmo, the large institutional holdings would explain the ability of the stock of weather these kinds of litigation shocks. It seems to me that after each bad news release, the pros let the stock drop and then bring it back after the panic selling. Obviously it is in the interest of the instiutional holders to show a higher value, especially at month and quarter end. This could go on indefinitely unless there was an event which brought an end to the maniupulation. It seems to me that would be in the form of either a very large number of shares hitting the market at once, or the inability of the funds or institutional holders to generate buying at a crucial time due to their own liquidity problems. Would you agree with this analysis? Do you know what proportion of the float is free (ie not in institutional hands)?
Regards,
Ron
