Hi Simon,
lets try to take this conversation in other directions, particularly let's talk like friends (who disagree sometimes by the way).
In recent history we almost saw the demise of IBM, wow I wish I had the foresight for that one, we all know there are others (KO as an example)
I'm not talking in the short term, I'm talking in terms I can now understand (I'm getting older, and by the way it really p****s me off) neither you or I can predict the "flavour of the decade" 20 years from now (for example Microsoft could well have been an icecream company for all the world knew)
Anytime we make predictions I think we should place it in some timeframe. To give you an example; I'm a Project Manager in the Resource sector (Mining, Petrochemical etc) I have this thing about Jr Mining exploration companies, all my knowledge doesn't appear to help when it comes to such investments, if it wasn't for the KO's, G's, and in particular the BRK's of this world I'd be down the tube, in contrast, because of such "solid, long term companies" I'm doing OK.
regards, Terence Mitchell
PS. I just noticed (old age) the reverse of OK is ....... |
