hi Bob, the sox actually is a capitalization weighted index indexes.nasdaqomx.com and that makes it very much influenced by the largest semi companies and it's underperformance is primarily due to the underperformance of INTC and AMAT...interestingly both stocks have similar charts having overcorrected in their last leg down but now trying to breakout at their 200 day ema and at upper bollinger bands...
