How will the US finance its current account deficit without QE2? The notion that there is some choice today about QE because there might be some 'recovery' in the US is a hollow concept. QE is not about recovery or no recovery. QE is about how to make it seem like the US can run up more debt and still be the global reserve currency given a current account deficit that no longer has any means of being serviced.
