Ted, let me put it this way. I'm not the one associating a man's need to "look manly" with homophobia. You are.

Homophobia and a man's manliness are two different things. That's a concept you can't seem to get through your head. A gay man is not gay because of his manliness's quotient. He's gay because of the gender with which he likes to have sex. In your homophobic mind, you think all gay men are effeminate. That could not be further from the truth.

I have a "chi chi dog," which means I obviously don't worry about "looking manly" to the neighbors. (I'm more embarrassed by my little dog barking at any and every other dog that passes by, including the big ones. He's going to get himself mauled one day, and that worries me.)

Your dog is not considered to be a manly dog. If you're okay with it, what's the big deal? Why are you getting hung up on this issue?

You think that my "chi chi dog" says something about my manhood, which means YOU'RE the one who has an innate need to "look manly." And according to you, that is associated with homophobia.

No. What I am saying is you have set yourself up to be the arbiter of manliness and which men have been emasculated. All I am saying that if that's your concern, you need to look at what you've got at home......a decidedly unmanly dog.

Hence you're the one who suffers from homophobia. Not me.

Once again homophobia and manliness are two different issues. How do you all go through life not understanding these very basic concepts?
