I choose # 2,<g>
Lowering your daily costs is good for your personal bottom line , also the environment...if one is so concerned.
The externalities do not matter to me personally, because i am selfish, my bottom line being more important to me than the environment, as i recognize the futility...because billions coming on line that want, what we have.
As I am selfish, most are, tripling insulation on everything that needs insulating has never ending pay back, for me as long as i live, and future owners of structures insulated, as long as they remain standing...a good deal now for me, and if one chooses , the environment.
Driving a fuel efficient car lowers daily costs as opposed to driving a gas guzzler. The spin off benefit for the environment if that is ones belief, but, my bottom line comes first, because that is the way it is.
I am not worried about negative or positive externalities regarding my costs behavior, i am just selfish.
So "me first" under the above, must equal positive externality for the environment....if one chooses to see it that way or can choose indifference as me. |
