Oh look at that....NOAA says that a strong La Nina is in place. No doubt that any cooler weather with above average precipitation will be blamed on....drum roll please...Global Warming!!

But it's just La Nina

That prediction was done without the benefit of all of the climate models that the AGW crowd has at their disposal. I just used common sense in my prediction. Just like I am doing with my prediction for this coming winter.

My prediction for the northern hemisphere average winter temperatures for 2010/2011 season is this. "average to slightly below average temperatures". Of course, some areas may see warmer temperatures and some might see much colder temperatures...but the average will be...somewhere near...average.

So in 6 months we can come back and see if an ignorant hack behind a laptop with his pajamas on is better at predicting weather cycles than all of the experts at NOAA with their degrees and computer models.

La Nina generally means that California is pretty dry.

However, we have rain here today...and the sierras are covered with snow.

My prediction is based on the idea that we had a pretty active hurricane season and hurricanes have the effect of dissipating accumulated heat. Therefore we would have cooler temperatures than last year (a warm el nino year).

Either way, the sky is not falling.

oh, and I'm waiting for the los angelenos to start bitching about the rain. Which of course, we always need. L.A. could use a little climate change....we always get more precipitation in El Nino (warm) years. Bring on the global climate disruption!!!
