Another day, another 85 million barrels of oil disappears FOREVER.

85 million bbls of oil per day = 1,000 bbls per SECOND.

1 bbl = 42 gallons

It's interesting how great calamities start off without any perception among people of what lies ahead.

Many thought when the American Civil War began it would only result in spilling a woman's thimble of blood.

The Great War (renamed after the Second World War to the First World War) was greeted by cheering people and the expectation the troops would be back home in 6 months.

The Second World War in the beginning was called the "Phony War."

Peak Oil, while not a conflict, is a man-made disaster which will have dimensions entirely unforeseen by the vast majority of people -- if nothing is done.
