Comments on the latest example of Teabagger violence and anti Americanism, the Rand Paul staffer who stomped on a woman's head after the other courageous patriots knocked her to the ground:
1. This is not unsimilar to the Sharron Angle staffer who punched out a woman at a non-partisan event, except more so. In both cases, the principals disavowed the staffers and were not real close to the incident. Heck, Al Capone was in Florida during The St. Valentine's Day Massacre, so he nothing to do with it, right? <G>
2. For the second time, it was male on female violence, due to the heroic nature of Teabaggers. Misogyny has not been a major theme of Teabaggers, not with so many goofy female candidates on their slate. Racism and violence have been their main themes, so I think the male on female bit is more coincidence and cowardice (a man might hit back) that orchestrated.
3. It was bad for political behavior, but not so bad for violence. I have seen stompings in the past and this was fairly mild. In fact, the guy was more grinding her head and shoulder into the floor than actively kicking it. It looked like he just wanted to squelch free speech, not kill the speaker.
4. Some GOP types have reminded us of Kerry being attacked by a loony at a speech. The guy was running at him and comedian Al Franken took him down and disabled him until security could arrive. Lots of differences. The guy was male. He was in physical attack mode, not asking an incovenient question. Franken didn't pound on him, he just wrestled him.
5. As we get closer to the election, the Teabaggers are showing their true colors more and more, with racism and violence at the top of their charts. Fun to watch them, hopefully, self destruct. |
