What Brooklyn did you grow up in? Brooklyn, Maryland. The bagels were better, the pizza was indescribably better(the cheese dripping on your hand and the oil burning the roof of your mouth). But please don't forget the corned beef, the rye bread, the potato salad, the chocolate malteds, and best of all, the potato knishes. As a matter of fact, everything that was sold at the corner deli, bakery and pizza parlor was better and it didn't matter what corner you were on. Every corner had one of these not to be forgotten eateries. Our children will never experience such joy. Manhattan Bagel knows this. You don't see them calling themselves Brooklyn Bagel!
