The threat to America from pilferage of its intellectual property is MINUSCULE compared to the threat from having our jobs taken away by a more competitive workplace.

Companies will do a reasonable job of protecting their own IP (in fact, protection of IP is what you [collectively] bitch about constantly WRT drug manufacturers).

The problem is that our base of manufacturing jobs has left for less hostile territories. Western Europe today is recognizing our vulnerability and they're going after the business we're giving up.

Why do you think it every economist is saying, "Those jobs aren't coming back"? It is because they've left, permanently, for localities that can do the jobs more cost effectively.
