Ernie, that's silly, we can't consider low-end cabling like twisted pair! Rather, the standard shielded coax that is installed in many buildings (like where I work) exceeds the standards below. The Gig Ether standards are not "Gig Fiber Standards", as much as ANCR would have us believe...please correct me if I am mistaken.

Also, cable ratings are also limited and affected by cable length. MRVC has made some comments about "extending length" though I am not sure this refers to the electrical or the logical characteristics of the network.

16mbps, category 4- rated to 20 mbps, and category 5 rated to 100mbps as

Association 568A statndard. So it appears that gig enet will have to run on
