The corn myth is BS. Corn processed for human food here in Iowa is not affected at all by the Ethanol industry. My very good friend is a huge corn farmer and the past Pres. of the Corn Board here in Iowa. He is furious with the meddling by Big Oil and the Oil Lobby and for their lies and obfuscations..!!! Production of all corn has increased because of the Ethanol industry, and the DDG byproduct feeds our livestock. Corn stover (remaining stalks) is feedstock for anaerobic digesters and is included in the E-mix at cellulose capable plants.

The problem with Ethanol is the back door BS interference by Big Oil and the fact that getting E-10 moved up to E-20 (a no brainer) is being thwarted for no practical reason. B-O and their Lobby keep pushing for more useless and delaying studies on every part of the ethanol expansion.

I had a 77 Jeep Honcho 4x4 (360 V8, stick) pickup when E-10 came out, and got a 2 MPG HWY increase as soon as I started using it - as exclusively as I could find pumps. This was back when I was carrying two 5 gal. Gerry cans chained in the bed for back-up after the "phony-ass oil crisis". Oil & Gas terminals were full, B-O just wasn't delivering it..!!!

E-85 is gradually growing as the auto industry produces more Flex vehicles. A FED mandate for E-20 would help the entire USA and begin eliminating the need for any subsidies; more volume always solves production cost problems - if plants add efficiency at the same time.

The damn Krauts were running on 100% Ethanol at the end of WWII because they had next to no gasoline after the bombing at the Ploesti oil fields, etc.
