Good Morning Frank,

Well it seems the fortune article sparks lots of discussion. I was not saying you were wrong about buy and hold. My point was its like a parent telling a child do as I say not as I do.

Read Brian's post to me, the first paragraph is completely how I feel about mutual funds. I don't trust a fund manager with my money, with the exception of my 401K money. I have no choice with the company plan.

If you read my original post a little closer you'll see I'm definately buy and hold. I do have stocks I won't hold for 20 years, but only because I have stocks like intel that I want to add to.

Example - I bought some stock in a company I worked for paid $0.98 and 1.65 a share for it now its worth $5-6 a share, I've made 5 times what I paid for it in 3 years. If I sell it (if it goes to 8+ again) I'll buy some more intel or KO or HWP, companies I want to keep for the long term. Ok I'll pay taxes on it but I don't want to hold that stock forever, a bit too risky.

I'll never try to time the market but some times you need to adjust your money to make sure it's doing the best it can. And you know I participate in the drips, this is an excellent way to compound stock just like compounding interest.

Have a great day!!

Take Care

Ann
