<We cannot afford to be smug about Palin.> She represents the leading edge and most raised part of a previously unexpressed (for a long time) rash... finally surfacing and now morphing into a nasty purulent one. Her ilk is doing everyone a favor: attracting a lot of attention and provoking lots of "itching" (debate and "Oh, my-s". We have to hope that it's treated properly and finally expelled...going away without too much bleeding. :)) DAK
