I've been saying for some time that I wanted a big, explicit vote for a serious rollback of spendaholic government, and that, if it turned out as just a slightly-swingier-than-usual midterm, Obama & Co would conclude that the right would have insufficient will to, for example, repeal ObamaCare. With the Senate results, the slightly-swingier-than-usual interpretation will prove attractive to Democrat-media analysts. I was hoping for something more in the nature of wholesale electoral slaughter. We didn't get that.

12.40am Harry Reid has survived. The wave is looking more like a ripple.

i agree with mark...

while losing the house is great news, i've been telling people for almost a year, if the 'enemy' didn't storm the castle in a huge way, the opportunity for compromise and more business as usual is far greater

i just watched bachus of AL talking about 'education reform' as a major issue for the republicans....can i get a WTF?

he demonstrates what is so very wrong with washington...education is a LOCAL issue, and americans were at least TRYING last night to tell the federal govt to get the hell out their lives...if the freshman class of republicans fall in line and start with compromising and 'conciliation' this country is doomed...
