the people of Washington hate taxes, but apparently still like Democrats They reinstated -- yet again -- a measure making it difficult to raise taxes. And they reelected -- yet again -- those making the limitation necessary. Voters seem to feel they can club legislators into doing things right at an acceptable cost. If they're aware of the repetitions of old errors again more apparent throughout Europe, they have no understanding about what's gone wrong, or why. The possibility they're still usurping superior mechanisms is outside their consciousness.
