I wasn't making a comment on the morality of the Government's policy. (Gotta say what they are doing is pretty clever though, sneaking this by.)

No problem on the morality play. I never thought of that at all. I don't think it's sneaky at all.. It's the most efficient and logical way to scale solar thermal. It's a gift this country has that a lot of other countries don't have at all! High desert areas...... And as has been mentioned many times before we would only need to cover a very small portion of it (less than 5%) to power our country many times over.

In the end for a large majority of folks they will be able to generate all the electricity and hot water themselves.

Independent of the grid.

Distributed generation will be "King of the Road" less than fifty years from now.
