Why?

Not exactly sure.

No error message. Windows XP Pro SP3, Firefox 3.6.12, with No Script and Adblock plus, but with scripts allowed for Gallup.com and with no add blocking for Gallup.com. I even tried "allow scripts globally" (essentially turning off NoScripts blocking for every site, but that didn't help. I think I also had the same problem on another computer (Running Vista and Firefox, and at a different location with a different ISP), and on this computer using IE7. Its also not a recent problem, its been occurring for a long time (but not on every gallup page, for example gallup.com works fine).

Re: "Looking beyond the Gallup poll, to the much wider poll that we had on Tuesday...."

That was an ELECTION we had! (Not a 'poll' sampling.)

An election is a poll, just one with a different type of question, and a much larger sample, and more actual impact in most cases.
