By now, very few young docs can still hang out a shingle and become independent practitioners. And that is good news. Socialism or Capitalism, HMOs like the Kaiser here are the future. I have no problem getting to the specialists, and everything is integrated. Getting the best Medical care of my life when I am precisely at the age to need it.
