Fred, so true, and I would take it a step further. Not only is the public understanding the complexity of semiconductors better, they are also becoming slowly immune from "The Media crying wolf". If a real bug is actually discovered it will have much less impact in the future, due to all these bogus bug claims.

This is not a bug, even the pundents acknowledge that you would not find this event unless you purposefully wanted to insert it. I would call it a shortened virus code, which does very little long term damage to your computer.

The real story for us investors is the roadmap Intel has layed out for the future. This was supposed to be the year Cyrix and AMD added money to their coffers to take on Intel in the next generation. They have to look back on this year as nearly a complete failure. How long do you suppose AMD can go on losing millions quarter after quarter?? And Cyrix-they had to throw in the towel and sellout!

AMD is in real trouble here. SI investors should be aware they may not be around 3 years from now. They need to CAN the management team at the top and find some quality talent and fast. Intel just keeps getting stronger, as it's competition (if you can call it that) keeps getting weaker. Crying wolf on a bogus chip is not going to save AMD. Getting their production and R&D act together might. If I was an AMD investor I would spend less time trying to push a bogus bug, and much more time asking some tough questions of AMD's leadership.
